Cameras that actually identify people
Most CCTV we are asked to look at cannot identify anyone. We design around what you actually need to see, then prove it works at handover.
A camera that records a hooded figure at 40 metres is evidence of nothing. Useful CCTV comes down to pixel density at the point of interest, sensible mounting height, lighting, and lenses chosen for the scene — not the number of cameras on the quote.
We install and maintain CCTV across Bristol for independent retailers, offices, workshops, apartment blocks and homeowners, from four cameras over a shop floor and stockroom to multi-site systems viewed from one app.
Till, entrance and stockroom coverage designed to identify, plus deterrent signage that reduces losses on its own.
Yard and perimeter cameras with line-crossing analytics and proper illumination for Avonmouth and Severnside units.
Discreet coverage of entrances, reception and server rooms, integrated with access control events.
Communal entrance and bin-store coverage, managed access to footage and clear resident notices.
Secure app access on phone and desktop, with alerts you can act on rather than dozens of false triggers.
Annual health checks, lens cleaning, firmware updates and recording verification — a camera nobody checks is a camera that is not recording.
We work to the recognised operational requirement categories — monitor, detect, observe, recognise, identify — and place cameras so the ones that matter meet the identify standard at entrances and tills. Everything else can be wider coverage at a lower spec, which keeps the cost sensible.
Low light is where cheap systems fall apart. Full-colour night technology or properly positioned infrared makes the difference between usable footage and an expensive grey blur.
Commercial CCTV is regulated. You need clear signage, a defined retention period, a lawful basis, and a process for handling subject access requests. We set retention correctly at commissioning and give you the signage and documentation to go with it — it takes ten minutes and saves a great deal of bother later.
Usually four to six: entrance, till, shop floor, stockroom and rear exit. More cameras rarely help; better placed cameras almost always do.
Typically 30 days for most businesses, justified by your own needs. Keeping footage indefinitely is a GDPR problem, not a benefit.
Yes — every system we install supports secure mobile and desktop viewing, and we set it up and test it with you at handover.
Yes, provided the equipment is serviceable. We will tell you honestly if it is beyond economic repair rather than charging to nurse it along.
